GLOBAL LOGISTICS & SOURCING MANAGER (On-site | Appleton, WI)

Overview:


FS2 Group, LLC, a privately owned fire protection product manufacturing and distribution company, is rapidly growing and looking to expand its team to include a Global Logistics & Sourcing Manager in Appleton, WI. Our primary objective is to streamline the procurement process for topโ€‘notch components serving the dispersed fire sprinkler system contractor market, enhancing both efficiency and accessibility in acquiring premium parts.


The Global Logistics & Sourcing Manager is responsible for coordinating the flow of products from customer purchase order to final delivery, ensuring the right product arrives at the right place at the right time for FS2. This position will work with leaders across departments to support the rapid growth of FS2 by playing an integral role in coordinating logistics with U.S. and Asian vendors, freight forwarders and logistics providers, U.S. ground transportation providers, and customer warehouse receiving teams.

Global Logistics & Sourcing Manager Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage purchase orders aligned to customer demand, inventory levels, and revenue opportunities.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient, timely, and compliant import operations.
  • Ensure timely placement of orders with vendors in the U.S. and Asia.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end logistics plans, including delivery schedules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between vendors, logistics partners, and customers.
  • Review and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, and import entry documentation.
  • Process the documentation necessary for import freight to clear US Customs and deliver to the final consignee in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations, including HTS classification, bonds, tariffs, valuation, and country-of-origin labeling.
  • Proactively engage customers to understand demand patterns and support timely ordering decisions.
  • Establish and maintain regular operating routines for pricing updates, demand planning, and vendor engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively across U.S. and Asian time zones, as needed.
  • Identify, track, and evaluate alternative or missed sourcing opportunities.
  • Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners via email and phone.
  • Develop and maintain performance scorecards, including:
  • Supply growth performance versus executive targets
  • Captured versus missed sourcing opportunities
  • Vendor and 3PL performance metrics
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support business needs and decision-making.


Global Logistics & Sourcing Manager Qualifications:


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end global import logistics.
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience.
  • Experience in distribution or product manufacturing required; fire protection products experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the international forwarding business for ocean, rail, and trucking.
  • Previous experience with HTS codes.
  • Experience in distribution or product manufacturing required; fire protection products experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Power Query) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple customers, orders, vendors, and logistics providers concurrently.
  • Strong ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage deadlines autonomously.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce, marketing, digital advertising, and related technology platforms supporting online sales.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to think strategically beyond administrative execution.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional and external partners without formal authority.
  • Strong communication skills across cultures and time zones.
  • Comfortable operating in a newly created or evolving role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
