True North Golf Club is a private destination golf club with a top-rated championship golf course, on-site lodging, trout fishing and dining facilities for our members and their guests. True North was created for golfers that appreciate championship level golf in a low volume, no tee times required, secluded and pure environment.
As a destination club, we provide our members with a club where they can escape the call of everyday life, enjoy the wildlife and natural beauty, and immerse themselves in golf the way it is meant to be played. While True North provides a unique, exclusive, and remote golf experience for our local guests, our club is also the perfect destination for visitors from far and wide with plenty of flight options or a scenic drive up the coast of Michigan.

Functions and Employment Standards:
Practice Facilities

  • Consistently present entire practice facility in a pre-determined fashion each day
  • Keep chipping greens clear of golf balls after member and guest use
  • Rake all bunkers after member and guest use
  • Keep range deck clear of broken tees when possible
  • Communicate with Starter to ensure players head to the first tee in a timely and orderly fashion
  • Communicate with Golf Instructors to make sure they have all supplies necessary for their lessons
  • Make sure the practice facility is fully stocked with golf balls in all necessary stations by periodically picking and cleaning used golf balls throughout the day
  • Clean all golf balls hit onto the range before presenting them for use again
  • Work with Golf Professional staff with extra duties during tournaments and events
Bag Room

  • Maintaining an up-to-date bag storage book that matches assigned bag slots for ease of bag retrieval
  • Always be present & visible to deter members retrieving their own bags
  • Clean all members clubs before storing them after play
  • Communicate with Starter to pull members golf bags in a timely fashion
  • Check rental sets to make sure no clubs are missing after use
  • Keep bag storage area clean and presentable at all times
  • Perform club repairs such as re-gripping, re-shafting and other basic club repair services
  • Communicate with Cart Barn Attendant to ensure appropriate number of golf carts are available
  • Greet and assist all members or guests coming off the course and/or driving range
  • Work with Golf Professional staff with extra duties during tournaments and events
Cart Barn

  • Maintain the daily cleanliness and restocking of cart fleet at all times
  • Keep cart barn clean and organized at all times
  • Utilize cart rotation program for equal use among cart fleet
  • Follow Armor-all detailing scheduling program to maintain spotless cart fleet
  • Report all cart maintenance issues to immediate supervisor in a timely fashion
  • Remain in communication with starter and bag room attendant to ensure proper number of carts are parked up top for member and guest use
  • Work with Golf Professional staff with extra duties during tournaments and events
Experience Required

  • Knowledge of the game of golf preferred
  • Must have friendly personality and enjoy working with the people
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong customer/guest orientation
  • Must be able to work independently
Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Performs opening procedure for the Bag Room & Cart barn
  • Remove golf bag from car and transport them to the bag racks
  • Retrieves golf carts from cart storage areas
  • Cleans golf clubs and carts daily
  • Sets up for daily member play, regular tee times, groups & outings
  • Checks in and out guest golf equipment, cleans guest/rental clubs
  • Keeps a fresh supply of clean towels available and keeps divot sand holders filled
  • Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
