Job description

Purpose within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist Event Coordinators with events on campus.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

Student worker will assist the Event Services Staff with duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Moving equipment for events, rearrangement of classrooms, set up tear downs of events and additional duties as required.

  • Frequently involves communicating with coworkers and supervisors in order to receive instructions and to relay information via in person, by phone, IM, or email.

  • May work independently, or part of a team, to complete a variety of work order assignments or supervisor-assigned tasks.

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Golf carts, trucks and forklift as needed to transport event equipment.
  • Phone, IM or email for communicating with team members and gathering instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Available for 20 hours a week with day and evening shifts.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.May operate or drive vehicles such as golf carts, forklift & trucks.

  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, school breaks and holidays as necessary. Availabilityduring Summer is a plus.

  • Must be able read and understand work orders, maintaining accurate records, event set up configuration documents with good spatial recognition.

  • Ability to cope effectively with changing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Have a reliable, self-motivated, detail oriented, and enthusiastic nature.

  • Must have the physical strength and capability to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds independently as well as push/pull equipment on carts, climb stairs and walk across campus for extended periods.

  • Ability tofor extended periods, moving about the University's premises, including on campus and remote campus locations, to access buildings and properties.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.

  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
