Job Snapshot: To provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation service by operating various school buses in transporting passengers to and from school as well as related activities accordance with applicable policies,
regulations, and statutes. To identify and communicate mechanical/maintenance and/or emergency situations to the Transportation Director/Coordinator. Assure a safe, on-time service and customer satisfaction and maintaining the highest level of ethical behavior with our customers, fellow employees and community we serve.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a driving record check through the NM Motor Vehicle Division with a solid safety record
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with Section 22-10-3, NMSA, 1978 at applicant's expense
  • Satisfactory completion of a NM school bus driver's physical examination
  • Possess a valid New Mexico commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B for school buses, with S and P endorsements or the ability to obtain one.
  • Successful pre-employment screening for drug abuse in accordance with 49 CFR Part 382 at the District's testing lab
  • School bus driver experience desired
  • Possession of current First Aid/CPR certification where required by State/District/Regulations desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Ability to interact and communicate with students in a positive manner
  • Ability to perform essential job functions and job task requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and co-workers
