Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown is a state-of-the-art, 60-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness.

Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who excels in this role:

  • Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
  • Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
  • Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
  • Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
  • Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
  • Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a healthcare environment. Additional requirements include:

  • Completion of a nursing assistant training course.
  • Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
  • CPR/BCLS certification required.

Schedule: Per Diem (PRN)
