Job description

Overview
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for making sure parts stock levels are sufficient to meet daily production requirements, suppliers are meeting their delivery times and all line feeding is accomplished on time for parts sequencing.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Provide direction to all warehouse staff (e.g. schedules, unpacking, line feeding, and housekeeping)
- Report and control inventories daily, as well as analyze and resolve discrepancies.
- Clear OS&D by ZQM10 on a daily basis.
- Manage OS&D and investigate why parts are being returned to OS&D area daily.
- Manage OS&D and investigate why parts are being returned to OS&D area daily.
- Supervisors are required to be present at early starts and overtime if needed.
- Coordinate receiving times and deliveries with suppliers and transportation companies
- Make sure there are sufficient parts stock levels in the warehouse to feed the production lines
- Coach Team Members to follow safety procedures and champion a safety-centered culture
- Train & cross train Team Members to ensure coverage in all areas and build a cross-functional team
- Track Team Member attendance and address attendance issues as needed
- Investigate and resolve worker issues
- Conduct Team Member performance evaluations
- Report to Manager on daily activities, problems, solutions, etc.
- Lead by example in maintaining good housekeeping and organization in the Logistics department
- Maintain forklifts and tow motors, as well as keep accurate and up-to-date service records
- All other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Yes Mobis Team Members and approximately 42 temps/contractors
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience in a leadership position in an industrial environment AND 3 or more years of experience in a position dealing with inventory in an industrial environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Logistics processes in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in an ever-changing automotive environment
  • Forklift Experience

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Experience driving powered industrial vehicles

Working Conditions
  • 30% in office environment, 70% on production floor
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Traversing around production floor
  • 1st Shift (06:30am-02:45pm)
  • Overtime as needed
  • Weekend work for inventory counts approximately 1-2 times per month and during plant shutdown periods
