Job description

Monticello Spring Corporation seeks First Line Supervisor of Production & Operating Workers-Multiple Openings in Monticello, Indiana.

  1. Develop other coiling operators and evaluate their progress;
  2. Develop standard operation sheets for the instruction of equipment setups;
  3. Utilize knowledge to detect possible anomalies or conflicts in the planning of machine setups to problem solve challenges;
  4. Execute the Production Plan of the Compression equipment;
  5. Carry out improvement studies in setup times and process improvements;
  6. Actively participate in the launch of new projects/products. Evaluate the development and definition of master samples;
  7. Carry out safety, order and cleanliness on a routine basis and train based on these principles;
  8. Ensure that quality and safety standards are met for the different products and processes of the plant;
  9. Utilize Spring Theory;
  10. Utilize the spring production processes (grinding, shot peening, heat-setting) and measuring instruments;
  11. Read and interpret customer drawings;
  12. Read and interpret Monticello internal specifications;
  13. Utilize coiling setup and verification;
  14. Machine related duties include:
  • Onboarding of new machines
  • Machine types/capabilities – Skilled in these machine types and development of New Operators
  • HTC-8, HTC-10, HTC-25/28, HTC-30PX, KHM-508, KHM-516, KHM-528,
  • HTC-60, SHA-950, SHA-980, Simplex A/7, Wafios FUL
  1. Safety Topics - Developing New Operators;
  2. Tooling Preparation, Installation and Refurbishment - Developing New Operators Feedrolls, Initial/Intermediate/Final Wire Guides, Coiling Points, Arbor, Cutter, Pitch Piece (Vertical And Horizontal);
  3. On-Machine Gauging Systems - Developing New Operators Capacitive Gauges, Camera Gauges, Touch Probing;
  4. Autonomous and Preventive Machine Maintenance - Developing New Operators Lubrication, Slide Wear, etc.;
  5. Product Quality – Developing New Operators:
  • Use measurement systems
  • Understand measurement error
  • Use micrometers and calipers
  • Use load testing instruments
  • Document part quality related data
  • Perform in-process part checking
  • Evaluate/identify part quality problems
  • Identify and correct source of part quality problems

Requires: 6 months of experience as Team Leader, Production Leader, or other related field
