SUMMARY
The Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist performs servicing duties as they relate to the accurate accounting, settlement, administration, and maintenance of mortgage loans in accordance with regulatory and investor guidelines. This position may focus on specified areas of Mortgage Loan Servicing including customer service, escrow administration, new loan boarding and quality control, loan maintenance and/or payment processing. The Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist will collaborate with each functional area within Mortgage Loan Servicing to ensure procedures are developed and maintained, resource needs are identified, cross-training efforts are coordinated, and assist leadership with departmental and field communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides development and ongoing maintenance of Mortgage Loan Servicing procedures.
  • Identifies mortgage loan servicing training needs, development of training materials, and assistance with scheduling and delivery.
  • Provides mortgage loan servicing and support functions such as processing loan payments/ corrections, payoffs, and responding to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Completes administration of mortgage loan escrow accounts to include maintenance, monitoring, and payment of taxes and insurance.
  • Collaborates with Mortgage Loan Servicing leadership to continually identify, propose, and implement workflow improvements.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of First Interstate Bank policies, investor guidelines, and federal regulations that apply to Mortgage Loan Servicing including Regulation E, Regulation X, and Bank Secrecy.

  • 3 years relevant experience in a financial institution within loan servicing preferred
  • Understanding of loan accounting systems, loan payment types, and loan processing preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $21.45 to $32.19 per hour in WA and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
