What is a first hostess?

First Hostesses are hospitality professionals who serve as the initial point of contact for guests at restaurants, hotels, events, or on cruises. They are responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth flow of service. The term 'First Hostess' often refers to the lead or most senior hostess, who may also supervise other hostesses and coordinate front-of-house operations.
