The Barista is responsible for creating an amazing experience by interacting with guests and preparing and serving tea, coffee, and expresso drinks. Whether working in an on-trend national brand, or an iconic concept from the local community, you will create and deliver first-class experiences for the traveling public.ย

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESย 

All Paradies Lagardรจre positions, including the Barista, require that you embody a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service with a smile to customers and team members.ย  You must embrace our family culture by following our core values, TRIFIC (Trust, Respect, Integrity, First-Class, Innovation, Commitment), recognize and satisfy all restaurant guests as well as be accountable to the Company and Restaurant Managers.ย ย 

The following are intended as basic requirements.ย  Success will come to the individual who can expand upon these job requirements and truly provide a memorable experience.ย  These requirements/functions may change throughout their employment.ย 

  • Must have a passion for the guest!ย 
  • Must say โ€œYesโ€, โ€œPleaseโ€, and โ€œThank Youโ€!ย 
  • Must smile often!ย 
  • Exceed First Class Service standards and behavior with guests, business partners, and peers.ย 
  • Maintain a professional company image by adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip resistant shoes.ย 
  • Warmly greets, acknowledges, and takes guests drink and food order within 30 seconds of them entering the concept.ย 
  • Operate coffee making equipment. Dismantling and cleaning machinery, as needed.ย 
  • Prepare and present beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards.ย 
  • Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system.ย 
  • Handles money, processes credit and debit card, makes change, while complying with the companyโ€™s Cash Handling and Loss Prevention Standard Operating Procedures.ย 
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the restaurant's menu and products.ย 
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and work to resolve any guest issues or concerns enlisting the assistance of a Manager, if necessary, immediately.ย 
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.ย ย 
  • Assist with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and helping as needed.ย 
  • Support other areas of the restaurant as requested, such as seating customers, answering telephones, stock work, cleanup, and documentation.ย 
  • Maintain a clean organized work environment that is free of safety hazards including trash, sweeping, mopping, and dishes.ย 
  • Receive positive Secret Shopper scores.ย 
  • Ask correct SMG related questions for positive comments.ย 
  • Be compliant with all local, state, federal laws and regulation including those relating to food safety.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:ย ย 

  • High School diploma or GED is required.ย ย 
  • Food and Beverage experience is preferred but not required.ย  ย 
  • Customer service focused and solution oriented.ย 
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.ย 
  • Ability to work in a high energy and demanding environment.ย 
  • Knowledge of math to figure cost, make change, and cash handling procedures.ย 
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.ย ย 
  • Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.ย 
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent, preferred.ย

  • Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment.ย ย 
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English.ย ย 
  • Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills.ย

  • Proficiency required in reading, writing and mathematics, in English.ย ย 
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. perform essential job functions such as standing, bending, reaching, climbing on a ladder, and walking long distances.ย 
  • Standing for long periods of time and the ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures.ย
