As an Assistant Manager, you are a key leader on the dispensary floor. You'll support store leadership in driving daily operations, developing staff, managing cash and inventory, and ensuring a compliant, customer-first environment. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated retail setting and is ready to grow their leadership career in cannabis.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Compliance

- Oversee daily store operations and ensure adherence to all SOPs and company policies
- Manage shift coverage, staffing adjustments, and timesheet accuracy
- Ensure full compliance with all state cannabis regulations and internal procedures
- Support change management implementations and ensure SOP updates are communicated and trained to all staff

Cash Management

- Open and close petty cash banks
- Facilitate cash vault services, pickups, and dropoffs
- Reconcile EOD cash reports and manage POS/card/cash accuracy

Inventory Management

- Receive deliveries and process vendor returns
- Restock products and maintain accurate inventory levels
- Conduct audits, adjustments, and oversee inventory destruction

Team Leadership & Development

- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of retail employees
- Facilitate new hire training and ongoing sales and leadership coaching
- Complete incident reports and maintain thorough documentation for performance management
- Make recommendations for promotions and terminations
- Ensure team compliance with attendance policies

Customer Experience

- Set the standard for excellent, compliant customer service on the floor
- Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism and efficiency
- Coach budtenders in real time on product knowledge, service standards, and compliance
- Manage customer queue and support floor operations during peak hours

Visual Merchandising & Marketing

- Manage in-store digital menus, displays, and kiosk menus
- Maintain print signage and banners
- Implement sales and promotional content and gather customer feedback on campaigns

Reporting

- Complete EOD, cash bank, and labor cost reporting
- Track transaction value and customer complaints
- Report employee relations issues, progressive discipline actions, and HR matters to leadership

Qualifications:

- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required; supervisory experience preferred
- Cannabis industry experience a plus — not required
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Comfortable working in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment
- Proficiency with POS systems and inventory software; cannabis seed-to-sale experience a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- Must meet all state requirements for employment in a licensed cannabis facility

Compensation & Benefits:

- $24.04/hr. | Full-time, 40 hours per week
