Job description

A busy, high-volume plastic surgery practice is seeking an experienced Certified First Assist to support the surgeon during operative procedures. This role requires advanced intraoperative assisting skills, strict sterile technique, and prior experience specifically in plastic surgery cases.Responsibilities
  • Provide first-assist support during plastic surgery procedures, including:

    • Tissue handling and retraction

    • Suturing and wound closure

    • Hemostasis assistance

  • Maintain strict sterile technique and OR protocols

  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping

  • Collaborate with the surgeon, anesthesia team, nursing staff, and OR personnel

  • Support post-operative dressing application and patient transfer

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards

Required SkillsCertification Requirement
  • Must be a Certified First Assistant (CFA, CSFA, or equivalent)

Professional Insurance Requirement
  • Must maintain an active professional liability (malpractice) insurance policy

  • Proof of coverage required prior to start date

Experience Requirement
  • Prior surgical first assist experience required

  • Plastic surgery experience is required

Skills
