Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years first assist or recently completed surgical residency.
Location
  • Southern Westchester County, New York.
Job Summary

40hrs/wk. Excellent opportunity for experienced PA to work in a hospital-based surgical practice. Function under the supervision of supervising attending surgeon on each of the following services listed below. Staff PAs comprise the surgical houseโ€‘staff and, as part of the attending MD/PA team, PAs are involved in the total care of the surgical patient from admission to discharge.

  • First Assistant in a variety of specialties: Bariatric, General, Head & Neck, OBGYN, Orthopedic, Vascular, Plastics, Neurosurgery, and Thoracic.
  • DaVinci Robot experience a plus but not necessary as we will train.
  • Morning rounds.
  • Preโ€‘op and Postโ€‘op surgical patients.
  • History and Physicals on routine and emergent admissions.
  • Perform surgical consultations.
Skills/Requirements
  • 3 years of first assist surgical experience or new candidate who recently completed a surgical residency.
  • Excellent suturing technique.
  • Comfortable working independently performing invasive procedures (e.g., central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, dialysis catheters, incisions and drainage).
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
