Job Summary:

As the RN, First Assistant, you assist surgeons in general and specialized surgeries.

You will prepare patients for surgery and monitor patients after surgery for pain and/or complications.

In this role, you act as a resource to members of the specialty team to ensure comprehensive and safe patient care.

The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role. It should not be considered exhaustive.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have successfully completed a course in preparing the registered nurse as a first assistant in surgery

  • Must be able to differentiate colors

  • 2 years of intraoperative clinical experience

  • Requires current licensure in the State of Ohio to practice professional nursing

  • Current specialty certification required (CNOR) issued by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing (CBPN)

  • BLS

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree
