Job description

Job Title: Inspector II

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota

Job Summary

The Inspector II is responsible for inspecting and testing purchased materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures. This role combines quality inspection responsibilities with material handling duties in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections according to documented procedures.
  • Record inspection and test results accurately following established guidelines.
  • Operate testing and measurement equipment as instructed.
  • Document non-conforming materials within the Non-Conforming Material Review system.
  • Assist with First Article inspections and special testing requests.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and trending activities.
  • Participate in GR&R studies as directed by engineering or technical teams.
  • Recommend improvements to inspection procedures and quality processes.
  • May assist in training other inspectors.
  • Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory initiatives.
  • Perform material handling duties, including lifting and moving materials as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling activities required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of material handling experience.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn internal systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience using inspection tools and measurement equipment is preferred but not required.
