Job description

Position Type: Per Diem (Part-Time/Casual) based on training need; hours are based on area training needs and are not guaranteed.

Schedule:  A flexible schedule that may include morning, evening and weekends.

Location:  Training sites in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Compensation: $30/hr.—plus mileage reimbursement (60+
miles, round trip). Reimbursement for tolls and parking will also be provided.

Summary of Position:  
The primary responsibility of each Instructor is to conduct in person American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Saving (BLS) and Heartsaver CPR AED/First Aid trainings. Instructors are expected to ensure that each student has a productive and meaningful
experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct First Aid and CPR training classes for individuals and group
  • Follow established AHA lesson plans and instructional materials for courses
  • Provide clear and concise explanations of  CPR & First Aid techniques and procedures
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for administering life saving skills
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to engage participants and facilitate
    learning
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Assess participant performance and provide feedback for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with current  guidelines and practices
  • Maintain responsibility for instruction and classroom management
  • Track attendance and report each training session to the Regional Coordinator and/or Director in a timely manner
  • Maintain reliable access to a computer with reliable internet access; maintain reliable access to a printer
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Adhere to organizational code of conduct and ethics


Qualifications and Experience:

  • CPR Certification (Required)
  • Valid PA Driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle (Required)
  • AHA CPR Instructor Certification (Preferred)
  • Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Healthcare Experience (Preferred)
