ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE
As an end-to-end responsive space transportation company, Firefly Aerospace is on a mission to enable our world to launch, land, and operate in space - anywhere, anytime. Our launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles provide government and commercial customers with full mission services from low Earth orbit to the surface of the Moon and beyond. Headquartered in North Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.
SUMMARY
Firefly has year-round engineering-focused internship opportunities for our locations in Texas. Both current undergrads and new graduates are encouraged to apply. As a Firefly Launch Vehicles Intern, you will support the Alpha program managers through all stages of mission and system design, including preliminary concept, detailed design, architecture layout, and execution.
You will have the opportunity to gain mission design experience by developing novel solutions for challenging problems. These positions require high levels of creativity, flexibility, and collaboration. The ability to communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural group is an absolute must.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support mission managers with mission design, manifest alignment, and program execution tasks
  • Assist in customer relations and milestone reviews
  • Develop program execution plans and strategy plans
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Must be currently enrolled in either a BS or MS program (or a recent graduate) at an accredited four-year university or college.
  • Willing to work in a hands-on, constantly evolving environment
  • Detail-oriented, managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on a common goal
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills, presentation skills, and public speaking
  • Experience working with and managing a cross-functional team with conflicting priorities

Desired:
Candidates should preferably have a focus in one of the following areas:
  • 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX experience
  • Demonstrated Program Management and Leadership skills
  • Business Development/Sales Experience
  • Demonstrated history of exposure to, or interest in, aerospace systems engineering
  • Eager to search for areas needing process improvements to increase efficiency and build tools to enable the team
