Position Summary


Works under the direct supervision of the Systems Analyst III to administer the development, maintenance, and revision activities related to software application development.ย 


Pay Grade:ย 54ย 

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Educationย 

Minimum Qualificationsย 

  • Three (3) years programming experience of which two (2) years in application development andย experience;ย ANDย 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university inย Computer Science, Dataย Processing,ย orย a closelyย related field; ORย 
  • An equivalent combination of related education,ย and/or experience.ย 
  • Successful completion of classes in GIS, computer science, geography,ย orย civil engineering is preferred.ย  ย 
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.ย 
    ย 

Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

  • Builds, andย maintainsย integrations between diverse systems using an Enterprise Service Bus document management workflow under the direction of Systems Analyst III.ย 
  • Constructs system interfaces, including their definition, organization, documentation, and implementation.ย ย 
  • Ensures designated software implementation and development techniques are consistent with Shelby County standards and guidelines.ย 
  • Works with users to define problems and devises logical procedures to solve problems within theย capacityย and limitations of equipment, operating time, and form of desired results.ย  ย 
  • Investigates and makes recommendations about useful web technologies and reports results to management.ย 
  • Maintains security and integrity controls.ย ย 
  • Creates and monitors web standards and procedures for Information Technology Dept.ย ย 
  • Integrates data and systemsย through the use ofย JDBC, ODBC,ย WebServices, or other acceptable methods.ย ย 
  • Consults andย advisesย various departments on making web site information more accessible to theย general public.ย 
  • Performs testingย in accordance withย established procedures.ย  ย 
  • Consults with system's users and development groups on test results.ย 
  • Codes, debugs,ย testsย and documents application programs as requested by management.ย  ย 
  • Assistsย in the development of specifications for software applications.ย 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.ย

  • Knowledge of SSRS, Crystal Reports, XML, XML Schema, JSON, REST and Log4J.ย
