Reports to: Director of Training

POSITION SUMMARY

The Firearms Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality firearms training in accordance with Frontier Justiceโ€™s established curriculum and class schedule. This position ensures that all participants receive a safe, educational, and engaging experience aligned with company standards of excellence.

Instructors are also expected to assist in retail sales activities when appropriate and may serve as a Range Safety Officer (RSO) as needed. The Firearms Instructor plays a key role in promoting responsible firearm ownership, safety education, and the Frontier Justice mission of faith, family, and freedom.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Achieves Results

  • Deliver all classes in alignment with approved curriculum and instructional objectives.
  • Identify current and future client training needs through rapport, observation, and participant feedback.
  • Monitor class outcomes through student evaluations and personal assessment to ensure effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong practical and theoretical knowledge of firearms, training techniques, and industry trends.
  • Support retail and membership sales goals by encouraging continued learning and participation in Frontier Justice programs.

Operational Excellence

  • Comply with all company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards relevant to firearms instruction and range operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe range and classroom environment.
  • Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating special classes or events as directed.
  • Report operational issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the Director of Training promptly.
  • Utilize company systems and technology accurately for attendance tracking, class management, and point-of-sale transactions.

Relationships

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, team members, and external trainers utilizing Frontier Justice facilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with retail, training, and range staff to ensure seamless client experiences.
  • Represent Frontier Justice professionally in all interactions, modeling the companyโ€™s values and standards of conduct.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Expertise in firearms handling, safety, and instructional technique.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead groups effectively and manage classroom dynamics.
  • Proficiency in relevant technology, including scheduling platforms and POS systems.
  • Physically capable of inspecting, auditing, and safely operating all range and classroom areas.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and able to maintain composure in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
Requirements:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent, college degree/hours preferred

21 years of age or older

Comfortable working around firearms with a strong commitment to enforcing safety practices

Minimum of NRA/USCCA Certified Pistol Instructor Certification

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to remain composed and courteous in a high-traffic, high-responsibility environment

Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods on hard concrete floors

Willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends/holidays)

Preferred:

Preferably 3-5 years firearms education and/or range safety officer duties.

Familiarity with federal and state firearm laws and regulations

Experience with 4473 forms and firearms compliance procedures
