Responsibilities to Anticipate
  • Planning, layout, fabrication and assembly of developmental type parts and assemblies, test equipment, missile assemblies, tools, gauges, molds, dies, and fixtures.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of manual machines, utilizing general machining practices and optimum utilization of the tooling/set-ups required with minimal direct supervision.
  • Utilizes advanced mathematical and problem solving skills.
  • Applies a comprehensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Uses a variety of Standard Inspection Equipment (SIE) to maintain integrity of conformance to part tolerances during fabrication.
  • Performs off line programming using Master Cam/conversational software to setup and fabricate complex precision developmental parts and potential pre-production parts.
  • Produce parts out of materials ranging from standard to exotic.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Six years of recent experience in a Tool & Die or Journeyman Machinist occupation.
  • Ability to setup and operate conventional Tool room machines, i.e., Mills, Lathes, and Grinders.
  • Ability to work from blueprints.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
  • Must be able to work any designated shift to include overnight.
  • Must pass practical test within 30 days of hiring into this position or upon promotion.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

OR
  • An AAS in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent technical education
  • Pass a practical test within thirty days of entering the occupation.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
  • Must be able to work any designated shift to include overnight.
  • Must pass practical test within 30 days of hiring into this position or upon promotion.

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and work place conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.
