Job description

Theย SilverStar Agency,ย a new, growing, and local security agency, is seeking to hire security officers, on an on-call basis (full and part-time), both armed and unarmed. Please call or visit our website to begin the applicant screening process.
Typical duties of a security officer will involve:

  • Uniformed patrol of an assigned area

  • Adherence to company values--Courtesy,ย Uniformity,ย Respect, andย Excellence

  • Deterrence of criminal activity (Command Presence)

  • Light Traffic Control

  • Providing directions to visitors

  • Customer Service

  • Escorting clients' employees though a given premises

  • Deterrence of safety violations/hazards

  • Fire Watch/Prevention

  • Removal of unruly patrons (Escorting out/off of premises)

  • Communicating with potentially hostile patrons

  • Maintaining a trespass log of repeat offenders, if necessary

  • Radio Dispatch/Call-Taking duties

  • Assisting other Emergency Services Personnel (Police/Fire/Emergency Medical/Utility Companies), as necessary

  • Preparing written reports of shift activity, incidents, and emergencies

  • Other duties, as reasonably requested by the administration and client

The ideal candidate(s) will:

  1. Be willing to qualify with, carry, and use weapons

  2. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed, and 21 years of age for armed assignments

  3. Be willing to follow instructions from ranking officers of the company

  4. Have a clear criminal history, and be willing to supply proof of such to the company

  5. Be willing to submit to and supply accurate information for a background investigation

  6. Be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen

  7. Possess aย VALIDย andย CURRENTย motor vehicle operator's license

  8. Be willing to work on weekends and holidays, as necessary

  9. Possess aย VALIDย andย CURRENTย Private Protective Service Certification through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Armed or Unarmed, or be able to obtain such within fifteen (15) days of hire

  10. Honorable Military, Law Enforcement, Professional Security, and/or Emergency Service experience is preferred
