What is a fire suppression system technician?

Fire Suppression System Technicians are skilled professionals who install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems in buildings and facilities. These systems can include sprinklers, chemical suppression units, and other fire prevention equipment designed to detect and extinguish fires. Technicians ensure that these systems comply with safety codes and regulations, and they often respond to emergency service calls to address system malfunctions. Their work is crucial for protecting lives and property from fire hazards.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fire suppression system technician?

To thrive as a Fire Suppression System Technician, you need expertise in fire protection systems, strong troubleshooting abilities, and relevant certifications such as NICET or state licensure. Familiarity with industry-standard fire alarm and suppression equipment, wiring schematics, and compliance with NFPA codes is crucial.
