Job description

To serve customers promptly, courteously friendly and enhance the image of AC&T. AC&T is a service company whose goal is to make every shopping experience profitable and pleasurable.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains proper customer relations and service.
  • Maintains contact with the Store Manager.
  • Maintains authorized store hours as determined by the General Office.
  • Adheres to all store procedures and policies; including security, reporting procedures, check cashing, etc.
  • Maintain inventory control.
  • Maintain all monies and the safekeeping of equipment, store records, and other

AC&T property assigned to him/her.

  • Maintain vendor control during his/her shift.
  • Is responsible for any guidelines set up by the Manager that are not contrary to

Company policies

  • Maintaining a clean and well-merchandised store within the standards set by the store manager.
  • Follow state and federal laws concerning the sale of alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Follow state and federal laws concerning lottery ticket sales and redemption.
  • Adheres to State regulations in regards to food service.
  • Is responsible for abiding by all Company rules and regulations designated herein and later as the AC&T deems necessary.
  • Is directly accountable to the Supervisor or Manager on a shift-to-shift basis.
  • Does not have authority to set prices, change prices, add new merchandise or discontinue any vendor.
  • Must immediately report all emergencies or accidents to his/her store Manager.
  • Has no authority to sign contracts, leases, options or warrants or, in any manner, obligate the Company.
  • Has no authority to make cash expenditures.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Be at least eighteen years of age or have a work permit.
  • Be able to speak, read, understand and write the English language.
  • Be able to perform mathematical calculations in order to be able to make change, complete shift reports and account for numbers of a variety of products during vendor check-in.
  • Have sufficient visual sharpness to check identification of customer when necessary.
  • Be able to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, carrying cases of milk cartons, soft drinks, beer and juice containers, etc., at least once per shift.
  • Be able to stock shelves and coolers.
  • Be able to serve food out of a food case that is kept at a minimum of 140 degrees F.
  • Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 20 pounds and moving it to the fire area.
  • Be able to bend in order to pull up a metal plate weighing 20 pounds from the underground storage tank.
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
  • Be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.
  • Be able to sweep and mop floors, dusts shelves and lift and carry out trash containers and place in an outside bin.
  • Be able to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the convenience store.
  • Be able to clean bathrooms, to include floors, sinks and toilets.
  • Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 38 degrees up to 15 minutes at a time.
  • Be able to communicate by telephone and/or store intercom.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and extended hours when and if necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to stand for an extened period of time. Must be able to work in a refrigerated area for up to 15 minutes and be able to work outside in all types of weather for a short period of time.
