Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong mathematics and analytical skills.
- Ability to coordinate and work well with others.
- Firm grasp of the commercial construction project lifecycle from the design handoff through project closeout.
- Demonstrable experience with AutoCAD and other drafting software, as well as competency with Microsoft Office suite.
- NICET Certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 yearsโ experience in fire sprinkler design in commercial and industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing construction contract documents and gathering necessary information from General Contractors and/or project Owners to produce a comprehensive fire sprinkler system design.
- Thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determining construction feasibility and systems possibilities.
- Developing positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customersโ expectations.
- Assisting as required with estimating takeoffs and estimates for Sales team.
- Providing technical assistance as required by Sales and other departments.
- Providing oversight of coordination between departments.
- Ensuring proper handoffs from Sales to Design, Design to the Field, and project closeouts.
- Ensuring appropriate approvals are received and shop drawings are complete to meet production schedule.
- Ensuring change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring proper closeout documents and procedures are followed proactively on each project.
