Role Overview
As a Sprinkler Service Sales Representative, you will professionally represent Johnson Controls in the promotion and sale of Fire Sprinkler service offerings to customers and end users within your assigned territory and accounts. This role is built for a motivated sales professional who can develop customer relationships, identify service opportunities, and help grow the sprinkler service business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers for system repairs, modifications, new construction, and service opportunities.
  • Work with the existing customer base to identify moves, adds, and changes to sprinkler systems.
  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy that strengthens understanding of company service offerings.
  • Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives.
  • Read blueprints, understand current NFPA 13 standards, and work with local codes.
  • Develop positive ongoing relationships with customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Estimate small projects, including day-works, as required.
  • Build new business relationships and contribute to the growth of the Sprinkler Service business.

  • Use marketing strategies, sales calls, and follow-up activity to create consistent pipeline momentum.
  • Apply your technical understanding of sprinkler systems to support accurate recommendations and project estimates.
  • Manage multiple opportunities at once while keeping your work organized, your communication clear, and your commitments on track.

Qualifications
  • Two years of sprinkler field or sales experience.
  • Technical knowledge of sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work with current NFPA 13 standards and local codes.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize work effectively.
  • Proficiency using personal computers, including Windows and Office 2007.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player and collaborate well with others.

Nice to Have
  • 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Previous sprinkler design experience, including estimating and performing hydraulic calculations.
  • NICET Level I.
