Job description

A well-established MEP Engineering firm located in Towson, MD is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for assisting in the design of fire suppression, smoke control and fire detection and emergency communications systems, as well as applicable code adherence and code review. This includes drawings, specifications, reports, condition assessments, Life Safety Analyses, cost estimates, and similar products and services. Duties include: Prepare design documents employing a thorough knowledge of industry practices and office standards; Incorporate a thorough understanding of the governing codes and standards affecting the work; Provide quality control reviews of fire suppression, smoke control, and fire detection and communications systems and life safety designs; Utilize CONTAM, Trane/Trace, Carrier/HAP, Microsoft Office products, CADD, BIM/Revit, and other industry software; Conduct field surveys, conditions assessments, Life Safety Analyses, load analyses, analyses of fire hazards, and cost estimating take-offs. Job requirements: BS in Fire Protection Engineering; 5+ years of experience.
