This position requires working in person, with a standard schedule M-F from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change with the approval of direct supervisor.


Join our dynamic team as a Multi Family Fire Estimator. In this pivotal role, you'll play a critical role in evaluating construction plans and specifications to accurately estimate costs for fire protection systems in multi-family residential projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Reviewing and analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for fire protection systems.
  2. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate cost forecasting.
  3. Preparing comprehensive bid proposals, including labor, materials, and equipment costs, for multi-family residential fire protection projects.
  4. Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire protection systems.
  5. Participating in project meetings to provide insights and recommendations based on your estimates.
  6. Maintaining accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and related documentation.
  7. Assisting in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in multi-family residential projects.
  2. Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and relevant building codes and standards.
  3. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation.
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to review and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
  5. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  6. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  8. Strong knowledge of fire protection systems including sprinkler, alarm, and suppression systems.
  9. Proficiency in estimating software such as Quick Bid, Plan Swift, or similar tools.
  10. Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC).
