Job description

Summary
Responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and installing portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10, local fire codes, and company standards; works directly with customers to ensure compliance and readiness of life safety equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and testing of portable fire extinguishers per NFPA 10.
  • Recharge, repair, and replace fire extinguishers as required.
  • Install new fire extinguishers, cabinets, signage, and mounting hardware.
  • Identify and document deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Complete inspection tags, reports, and electronic documentation accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with customers regarding compliance status and service needs.
  • Maintain service vehicles, tools, and inventory.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Support emergency or on-call service requests as needed.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma and 1-3 years of fire extinguisher service experience, preferred; state or local fire extinguisher technician certification, preferred (or ability to obtain);
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office applications and CRM proficiency.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, carry, and install extinguishers up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing; ability to work in commercial, industrial, and multi-family buildings; regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; occasionally required to sit and climb or balance; must be able to lift up to 75lbs. Field-based role at customer locations; exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and mechanical environments; occasional overtime or on-call work.
