Associated Fire Protection is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing sprinkler systems for commercial and residential buildings. As a Sprinkler Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and drafting fire protection sprinkler systems that meet the requirements of local and national codes and standards.

Essential Functions- include but are not limited to:

  • Design and draft sprinkler and suppression systems for commercial and residential buildings.
  • Ensure that all designs meet local and national codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Review and interpret project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare and submit project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Knowledge and utilization of the AutoCAD system when designing projects.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical support as needed.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in fire alarm system design.

  • Communicate effectively with customers as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and work effectively with coworkers.
  • Keep appointments and show up to work on time.
  • Attitude and actions are in line with company’s mission statement, vision and values.

Additional Requirements & Skills

  • Employee will have access to considerable internal and external contacts, and the company’s confidential information. Employee must display qualities and characteristics of a trustworthy employee, included, but not limited to, independent judgement and initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, certificate in project manager, or related field is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience with sprinkler design and project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite is required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines is required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
