Job description

A national employee-owned fire and life safety organization is urgently looking for:

  1. a NICET III licensed hands on Fire Sprinkler Superintendent to lead construction sprinkler and installation projects from kickoff to completion in the Downers Grove and Chicago, IL surrounding areas—keeping timelines, budgets, and meeting/exceeding clients expectations.
  2. Several licensed NICET III Fire Sprinkler Inspectors to cover the Downers Grove, Chicago, IL and surrounding areas.

Superintendent Role:

As a Hands On Fire Sprinkler Superintendent your time wil be split between working in the office and being out in the field to lead field crews through project completion, oversee quality installations, support hands-on work as needed, and maintain clear communication with the Project Manager. Specifically, duties include but are not limited to:

  • Creating, scheduling, and closing work orders and managing field crews
  • Ordering parts and materials needed for the job
  • Communicate and liase with field sprinkler techs, contractors,clients, vendors and suppliers about projects (scope, budget, timelines etc.)
  • Execute close out documentation and maintain weekly updated redline drawings
  • Other related duties as required


Fire Sprinkler Inspector Role:

Fire Sprinkler Inspectors will primarily inspect, as well as test, install, and service a variety of water and air-based fire suppression and controls systems, valves, pipelines, fire pump and related equipment in commercial healthcare, and industrial settings.

WORKING FIRE SPRINKLER SUPERINTENDENT JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • NICET III or higher (water-based inspections) license required
  • At least eight (8) years construction fire sprinkler experience
  • Previous supervisory experience with the ability to manage multiple projects within the fire sprinkler industry
  • 5+ years of install, service, and maintenance experience with a variety of fire sprinkler systems
  • Knowledgeable NFPA 10, NFPA 17-17A and plumbing codes
  • Knowledgeable of financial reports
  • Ability to travel, possibly for extended periods of time
  • Valid driver's license with a clean MVR
  • Able to pass pre-employment background checks (i.e. Criminal, Driving, Drug)


FIRE SPRINKLER INSPECTOR JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • NICET III or higher (water-based inspections) license required
  • At least four (4) years experience install, service, and maintenance experience with a variety of fire sprinkler systems
  • Knowledgeable NFPA 10, NFPA 17-17A and plumbing codes
  • Valid driver's license with a clean MVR
  • Able to pass pre-employment background checks (i.e. Criminal, Driving, Drug)

SHIFT: Days, 7:00am – 3:00pm (Monday – Friday). OT after 40 hours.

COMPENSATION & COMPANY PERKS:

  • Superintendent: $55.00 - $63.00/hour+++
  • Fire Sprinkler Inspector: $48.00 - $54.00/hour+++
