Description
Burns & McDonnell is a 100% employee-owned engineering, construction, and consulting firm. We are seeking an energetic person with a high level of initiative to market, manage, and perform fire protection specific projects. Fire protection is a broad, exciting, and fast-growing discipline offering excellent opportunity for growth. This individual will support a larger fire protection team with a focus on leading project development in a growing fire protection specific business line. Our Project Managers are seller-doers who develop and maintain client relationships and market sectors, with the responsibility for coordinating and leading project teams to deliver quality projects that make our clients successful. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in fire protection and project management.
Initial responsibilities will involve day-to-day marketing and management of fire protection specific projects which may include a multi-discipline design team, developing cost and technical proposals, contract negotiation, coordinating design efforts, managing schedules and budgets, client development, and managing client expectations and client satisfaction.
This Assistant Fire Protection Project Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of larger and smaller value projects as part of an annual portfolio of projects. Additionally, this Assistant Fire Protection Project Manager will assist with:
  • Growing relationships and market share in the fire protection segment.
  • Developing and maintaining client and partner relationships through building trust and providing high levels of service.
  • Assist the Project Management team for intake of incoming Requests for Proposals (RFP) and provide assistance on compiling and technical writing of outgoing proposals to clients.
  • Planning, coordinating, communicating, and facilitating activities of several disciplines on multiple projects from concept through completion.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Managing and performing project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, meeting budget objectives, communicating and meeting deadlines.
  • Project close out contract and project documentation.
  • Promoting safe work environments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience, including 3 or more years delivering projects specifically focused on fire protection.
  • Customer-focused with good relationship-building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to make thoughtful, informative and persuasive presentations to clients.
  • Ability to represent Burns & McDonnell in a professional, competent manner.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Primavera P6 or Microsoft project preferred.
  • Professional registration (PE) or industry-related certifications (NICET) preferred.

Compensation
$105,000.00-210,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
