Job description

UrbanNY is seeking qualified individuals in New York City to join our Facilities CM Department as Fire Alarm/ Fire Protection Inspector. This position will be supporting upcoming projects at the LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) and various locations as needed performing inspections, testing, and reporting on fire protection and fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct inspections and testing of fire protection systems (e.g., sprinklers, standpipes, extinguishers) and fire alarm systems.Document inspection results, deficiencies, and recommendations in compliance with NFPA, local, and state codes.Coordinate with clients and building representatives to schedule and complete inspections.Ensure all systems are functioning properly and meet safety and regulatory standards.Prepare inspection reports and submit documentation in a timely manner.Maintain proper tools, equipment, and certifications required to perform inspections.Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in fire protection and/or fire alarm inspections required.Working knowledge of NFPA codes and local fire safety regulations.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify compliance issues.Excellent communication and report-writing skills.Ability to work independently and manage part-time inspection schedules.Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, state licenses) preferred but not always required.OSHA 30 requiredApply today!Pay Rate: $50 - $62/ hour.Location(s): New York City, NY | On-Site OnlyAbout UsUrbanNY is an engineering firm owned and managed by professional, licensed engineers, specializing in program management, engineering services, and construction management.
