Nurse Practitioner- Pediatrics

Job Details

The Nurse Practitioner works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will provide general medical care and treatment to patients under the direction of providers. In addition, this role will assess training opportunities to promote team development.

4 days a week 8am-5pm (32 Hour Week)

2 days at Menifee location and 2 days at Beaumont

Responsibilities

  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines/instructions from providers and NHC practice protocols
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
  • Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient's condition
  • Submits health care plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by providers
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment to patients, such as physical therapy, inhalations therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
  • Refers patients to providers for consultation or specialized health resources for treatment
  • Impacts patient experiences by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy

Team Support

  • Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teams
  • Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders
  • Responds promptly and with caring actions to patients and employees
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the public
  • Cooperates in accomplishing communicated department goals and objectives
  • Identifies training needs and promotes developmental activities for the team

Clinical Administration

  • Discusses cases with providers and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans
  • Performs duties in accordance with the NP Supervisory Agreement
  • Keeps informed and promotes organizational activities and team goals aligned to the NHC mission and vision
  • Functions at highest level according to credentials and competency

Education/Experience

  • Master's degree in nursing required
  • California Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nursing license in good standing is required
  • Current CA DEA licensure is required and is to be maintained as a condition of employment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. AHA-approved courses include an in-person, hands-on skills check with a certified instructor using a mannequin to demonstrate CPR and emergency response techniques. Online-only BLS courses without a live skills check do not meet this requirement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledgeable about and experience with providing direct care to patients
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner

Physical Requirements

Compliance (Safety & HIPAA)

  • Follow all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare's Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices
  • Use appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environment
  • Be familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exits
  • Follow all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocols
  • Maintain privacy of all patient, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposes
  • Comply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations
  • Report all behavior and/or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful

Pay range: $124,000 - $191,100 per year, depending on experience. (DOE)

While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
