Role Description The Fire Alarm Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting the inspection & testing, configuration, programming and documentation of fire alarm and life safety systems. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing system layouts and specifications, performing remote diagnostics, coordinating with other field technicians and systems engineers in assisting with code compliance, deficiency corrections and system commissioning. The specialist will conduct inspections / functional testing and respond to service requests, prepare technical reports, update system records, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams on fire detection & alarm / control - comms functionality and best practices. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and engineers, ensuring that installations and upgrades meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality guidelines. Continuous learning about evolving fire safety codes, technologies, and industry best practices is expected.

Qualifications


  • Candidates must possess a hands-on skillset to support safe system and operational practices.
  • NICET II and City of Seattle FA-1 are required
  • State & SEA Sprinkler ITT preferred
  • Candidates must possess skills in Fire Protection and Life Safety to help ensure code-compliant systems and occupant safety.
  • Candidates must possess skills related to Fire Suppression Systems to coordinate and understand integrated fire alarm and suppression solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant fire codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, local building and fire codes) and experience with fire alarm panels and detection devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation, with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Prior experience in fire alarm, fire protection, and building safety systems as well as industry certifications are essential.
  • Valid and clean WA Drivers License required
  • Current Pilot License benefia
