Fire Alarm Inspector

THE ROLE - WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
As a Fire Alarm Inspector, you'll play a critical role in protecting lives by ensuring fire alarm systems are operating properly and comply with applicable codes and standards. You'll perform scheduled inspections, testing, documentation, and minor troubleshooting of fire alarm systems while delivering exceptional customer service during every visit.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems in the field, and taking pride in performing work that directly impacts life safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform scheduled inspections and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, local codes, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, batteries, power supplies, and associated system components.
  • Identify deficiencies and accurately document inspection findings.
  • Complete electronic inspection reports, test documentation, and required compliance paperwork.
  • Communicate inspection results and recommended corrective actions to customers in a professional manner.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with service technicians when repairs or additional work are required.
  • Maintain inspection schedules while ensuring timely arrival and completion of assigned work.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Stay current on industry codes, manufacturer requirements, and inspection procedures.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NICET II or higher in Fire Alarm or Test and Inspect
  • Denver License
  • Experience inspecting, testing, or servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire alarm codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Bosch, Silent Knight, or similar).
  • Experience with commercial fire alarm systems in healthcare, education, industrial, or commercial facilities.
  • Experience using electronic inspection software and mobile technology.
