Job description

As a fire alarm Installer or Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation and maintenance of various systems, including fire alarms and low voltage solutions. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver exceptional service to our clients. Your expertise in system design, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be key as you navigate through installations and inspections. Get ready to make a significant impact in the field!


Installers

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installations.
  • Design and implement system layouts for fire alarms and other low voltage systems.
  • Conduct thorough construction inspections to verify compliance with safety standards.
  • Install fire sprinkler fittings, sensors, and alarm systems using hand tools and power tools.
  • Provide field service support, troubleshooting issues, and performing necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction projects, ensuring timely completion.

Service

  • Maintain detailed records of installations, inspections, and service calls.
  • Diagnose fire alarm issues
  • Propose solutions to eliminate reported issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair circuit issues such as ground faults and open circuits.
  • Replace malfunctioning devices
  • Replace malfunctioning panel components
  • Modify fire alarm programming when necessary

Basic qualifications

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.

  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with a variety of fire alarm panels (Gamewell FCI, Firelite, & Silent Knight preferred)
  • Experience programming fire alarm panels
  • NICET 1 certification preferred
  • Effective interpersonal and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with others
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
