Fintech Writer information

What is a fintech writer?

Fintech writers are professionals who specialize in creating content about financial technology, or fintech, which includes topics like digital banking, cryptocurrencies, online payments, and financial regulations. They produce articles, reports, blogs, and other materials aimed at educating or informing readers about the latest trends and developments in the fintech industry. These writers often have a background in finance, technology, or journalism, and must stay updated on rapidly changing fintech innovations. Their work helps businesses communicate complex financial concepts in ways that are accessible to both industry professionals and the general public.

What are some unique challenges fintech writers face when covering rapidly evolving technologies and regulations?

Fintech Writers often encounter the challenge of staying current with fast-changing technologies and regulatory landscapes. This requires continuous research and adaptability, as new innovations and compliance requirements can quickly render previously accurate information outdated. Writers must be able to translate complex technical and legal concepts into clear, engaging content for varied audiences, balancing accuracy with accessibility. Collaboration with subject matter experts and legal teams is common to ensure content reflects the latest industry standards and developments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fintech writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fintech Writer, you need expertise in financial concepts, industry trends, and strong writing abilities, often supported by a background in finance, journalism, or communications. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and financial data platforms is typically required. Attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging content are standout soft skills. These competencies ensure the writer can accurately inform and engage diverse audiences in a rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

Job description

Job Summary:
ClarityPay is a fast-growing fintech company redefining the point-of-sale credit market. They are seeking a Finance Data Analyst to serve as the data engine for their finance team, working cross-functionally to extract and analyze data that drives financial reporting and business decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data across loan originations, portfolio performance, payment activity, and merchant transactions
• Build and maintain clean, reliable datasets and data pipelines to support recurring finance and risk reporting
• Perform ad hoc analyses to answer business questions across the credit, product, and finance teams
• Support the finance team with data pulls for monthly reporting, investor updates, and board materials
• Analyze portfolio-level metrics including origination volumes, delinquency rates, loss rates, prepayment speeds, and cohort performance
• Build and maintain dashboards in BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar) to give stakeholders real-time visibility into key metrics
• Partner with the Risk team to pull and analyze credit performance data, underwriting outcomes, and loss trends
• Work with the Product team to instrument new features, track performance metrics, and assess the financial impact of product decisions
• Translate raw data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Use Python to automate recurring data pulls, reporting workflows, and manual finance processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead
• Partner with engineering to understand data models, ensure data quality, and flag anomalies
• Help build and document a scalable data foundation for the finance function
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in a data analyst, financial analyst, or similar role
• Strong SQL skills — comfortable writing complex queries, joins, window functions, and aggregations
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and process automation (pandas, numpy)
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate data findings clearly to finance, risk, and product stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred:
• Familiarity with consumer lending, fintech, or financial services data is a strong plus
Company:
