Job description

About Piston

Piston is a fast-growing, venture-backed fintech startup reinventing how fleets pay for fuel. Our flagship product, PistonPay, is a cardless, QR-based fuel payment network that gives fleet owners real-time visibility, prevents fraud before it happens, and makes fuel payments seamless and hassle-free.

We're proud to be backed by Pear VC and Spark Capital, and we're scaling quickly with fleets across the U.S. If you want to join a company that's moving fast, breaking old systems, and building the future of payments for trucking—you'll fit right in.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to build and run Piston's marketing engine from the ground up. This is an in-office role in Cupertino, CA. You won't be just managing agencies—you'll be executing directly, experimenting boldly, and owning results.

What You'll Do
  • Own and grow Piston's social media presence with bold, engaging, and relevant content.

  • Design and execute email campaigns in HubSpot (and beyond) that drive engagement and growth.

  • Partner with the sales team to create and run lead-gen and conversion campaigns.

  • Build and protect the Piston brand—ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and design across all channels.

  • Track, analyze, and optimize marketing KPIs to measure and improve performance.

  • Operate with urgency, creativity, and accountability—a builder, not a delegator.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of marketing experience (startup, B2B SaaS, or fintech strongly preferred).

  • Proficiency with email marketing tools (HubSpot is a plus).

  • Strong sense of brand and design—comfortable creating or guiding assets.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills.

  • High-energy, self-driven, and eager to work hard to build something big.

  • Bonus: Experience with paid ads, analytics tools, or growth hacks.

Why Join Piston?

🚀 Build the marketing function from day one.

👥 Work directly with the founding team.

📝 Shape the voice of a disruptive fintech startup.

💰 Competitive salary + meaningful equity.

⚡ Be part of a culture that values speed, ownership, and execution.
