ABOUT THIS ROLE

This Sr Program Manager role with Apex Cost Basis and Tax is an incredible opportunity sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, operations, and client-facing teams. You will drive alignment within Cost Basis and Tax and across the broader Apex organization, keeping cross-functional initiatives moving in a fast paced and agile environment. This is a high-visibility role where you will partner directly with leaders across the organization and have a real impact on how we deliver for our clients. You will have the opportunity to shape how a modern fintech organization coordinates and delivers across teams, with direct exposure to leadership and the autonomy to drive meaningful change.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across product, engineering, operations, and leadership to drive alignment and effective coordination
  • Ensure priorities, progress, risks, and decisions are communicated effectively across teams and to leadership, and are aligned to strategic business objectives
  • Facilitate and focus the forums that matter: kickoffs, retrospectives, cross-team syncs, leadership reviews
  • Champion team and individual efforts across the organization in a positive, respectful way
  • Support teams in planning and delivering against commitments through annual, quarterly, and monthly coordination
  • Proactively identify and resolve blockers across teams, whether unclear requirements, misaligned priorities, or resource constraints
  • Lead cross-organization programs, integrations, and migration efforts where multiple teams need to coordinate delivery
  • Own transparent reporting on portfolio health, delivery progress, and key metrics, and present at leadership meetings, quarterly business reviews, and other forums
  • Drive continuous improvement across teams and across the organization by facilitating retrospectives, capturing learnings, and following through on the changes teams agree to make
  • Apply AI tools as a working practice, from reporting and analysis to knowledge synthesis, and evaluate emerging capabilities that help teams work more effectively

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or similar field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, with a track record of managing cross-functional programs in a cloud/SaaS environment
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate program delivery and as a working practice of incorporating AI into daily workflows
  • Demonstrated success working across organizational boundaries, building relationships and influencing outcomes without direct authority
  • Experience in environments where product development teams have ownership of their delivery and the program manager's role is coordination and enablement

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to thrive with ambiguity and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages for audiences from project teams to executive leadership
  • Strong judgment on when to convene stakeholders, when to escalate, and when to let teams execute
  • Ability to take a data-driven approach to program management, collecting and analyzing information to drive clarity and stakeholder alignment
  • Comfort with modern collaboration and work tracking tools (Confluence, JIRA, etc.) and a willingness to adopt and evaluate new ones
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools to program management workflows, including reporting, analysis, and stakeholder communication
  • Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple teams and workstreams into clear, actionable plans
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills with attention to detail

Other Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Familiarity with working in a SaaS environment
  • Project Management Institute certification (PMP or CAPM)
