Job description

The Sr DevOps Engineer owns core DevOps and CI/CD platforms across Azure DevOps and GitHub, enabling reliable and automated application delivery in Azure-hosted and on-prem environments.
The role requires strong DevOps engineering fundamentals, proficiency with cloud platforms and Terraform for delivery enablement, and active participation in AI-enabled DevOps practices, including Copilot-assisted development and early agentic automation. The position also incorporates FinOps-aware decision-making to promote cost-efficient operations.
This role focuses on core DevOps engineering, including CI/CD platforms, delivery automation, and developer enablement. The position collaborates closely with teams that specialize in cloud infrastructure, reliability, cost optimization, and release coordination, while remaining primarily responsible for DevOps platform ownership.
AI adoption is actively encouraged and supported at the enterprise level, and this role is expected to apply and extend AI-assisted capabilities within DevOps workflows.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Core DevOps Platform Engineering (Primary Responsibility)
  • Own, design, and operate enterprise-grade CI/CD platforms using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve pipeline frameworks supporting cloud-hosted and on-prem workloads.
  • Implement Git-driven (GitOps-style) delivery workflows to standardize deployments, approvals, and release promotion.
  • Standardize repository structures, pipeline templates, branching strategies, and delivery workflows across teams.
  • Ensure reliability, traceability, and repeatability of application delivery at enterprise scale.

Cloud & Infrastructure Enablement (Growth & Scale Focus)
  • Operate DevOps platforms across Microsoft Azure and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Integrate CI/CD workflows with Terraform-based infrastructure in partnership with cloud teams.
  • Align DevOps delivery processes with cloud and infrastructure standards.
  • Support containerized and Kubernetes-based platforms (AKS preferred) from a DevOps enablement perspective.

AI Adoption & Agentic DevOps (Active Focus Area)
  • Actively apply AI-assisted tooling, including GitHub Copilot, to CI/CD pipelines, scripts, and DevOps automation.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce AI-driven efficiencies into build, deployment, troubleshooting, and operational workflows.
  • Participate in the design and incremental implementation of agentic DevOps capabilities using AI services and MCP servers.
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership to ensure AI usage aligns with enterprise standards, governance, and adoption goals.

Security, Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
  • Apply IAM, RBAC, and governance controls within DevOps workflows.
  • Ensure observability across DevOps platforms using logging, monitoring, and metrics.
  • Contribute to resilient, secure, and cost-aware platform operations.

FinOps & Cloud Cost Awareness
  • Apply FinOps-aware practices within DevOps workflows to promote cost-efficient cloud usage.
  • Collaborate with finance and cloud stakeholders to support cost visibility and optimization initiatives.
  • Integrate cost considerations into CI/CD pipelines, provisioning workflows, and automation where appropriate.

What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • 4+ years of experience supporting Azure-hosted and on-prem environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering, with a strong focus on CI/CD and delivery automation.
  • 3+ years of programming automation in at least one of the following: PowerShell, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • 1+ years of hands on experience developing AI Automated workflows and decisioning. Demonstrated use or adoption of AI-assisted tooling in DevOps, development, or operations using Copilot-enabled workflows, MCP servers, etc.
  • Hands-on experience owning and operating enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience integrating DevOps workflows with Terraform-based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with FinOps or cloud cost optimization concepts.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is desired

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
