Job description

Job Title: Fingerprint Technician / Customer Service Representative
Company: Biometrics Identity Verification System
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Position Summary

Biometrics Identity Verification System is seeking a reliable, professional, and customer-focused Fingerprint Technician to join our team. This position serves as the primary staff member in the office and is responsible for assisting customers with fingerprinting services, passport photos, appointment scheduling, phone calls, and general administrative duties.

No fingerprinting experience is required. The selected candidate will receive paid training through our company and the State of Maryland.

This position is the primary staff member assigned to the office. Reliable attendance and the ability to work the assigned Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. schedule are essential functions of the position. Because each office is independently staffed, consistent coverage during business hours is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic fingerprinting services using Live Scan equipment
  • Take passport photos
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions
  • Schedule appointments
  • Verify customer identification and required documentation
  • Enter customer information accurately into computer systems
  • Process payments and issue receipts
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information
  • Open and close the office each business day
  • Keep the office clean, organized, and professional
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and state requirements
  • Complete fingerprinting training provided by the company and the State of Maryland
  • Perform other administrative and customer service duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills, including typing, email, and data entry
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to answer phones professionally
  • Ability to follow instructions and detailed procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Dependable, punctual, and organized
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service, receptionist, administrative, retail, front desk, or office experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Training

No prior fingerprinting experience is necessary. Training will be provided by Biometrics Identity Verification System and the State of Maryland.
