Essential Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging group activities for residents.
Provide meaningful one-on-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
Document resident participation and attendance in accordance with department guidelines.
Assist with the development and implementation of the monthly activity calendar.
Support and coordinate volunteers participating in resident programs and events.
Prepare activity spaces and maintain activity supplies, equipment, and program areas.
Participate in resident outings, special events, and transportation activities as needed.
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans.
Assist with food and beverage service during activities while adhering to resident dietary restrictions and safety standards.
Complete assigned projects and department tasks in a timely manner.
Education, Training, Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
College coursework in Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience working with older adults, senior living communities, healthcare, recreation, or activity programming preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage groups and individuals effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, team members, volunteers, and leadership.
Ability to speak clearly and confidently when facilitating activities and making announcements.
Ability to redirect and encourage resident participation in a positive, supportive manner.
Basic computer skills, including experience with common software applications.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
