Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Non CDL Driver role based in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area. The Non CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating company trucks to deliver metal products to customer locations and job sites. Daily tasks include loading and securing materials, driving assigned routes, unloading products upon arrival, and confirming delivery documentation. The role also involves performing basic vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs, following company and basic DOT safety guidelines, and interacting with customers in a professional manner. The driver works closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate orders, on-time deliveries, and a clean, organized vehicle.
Qualifications
  • Experience with truck operation and basic truck driving responsibilities (Truck Driving, Truck).
  • Ability to safely load, secure, and unload materials, including manual handling of metal products (Unloading).
  • Familiarity with general transportation safety practices and awareness of DOT-related regulations for non-CDL drivers (DOT Regulations).
  • Optional exposure or understanding of CDL Class A operations, even though this role does not require a CDL (CDL Class A).
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy materials, with attention to proper ergonomic and safety practices.
  • Strong time-management skills, reliability, and ability to follow routes and delivery schedules.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with customers and internal teams.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle safety checks and willingness to report issues promptly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in delivery, warehouse, or construction environments is a plus.
