Job description

Choice Electric is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead and grow our electrical service operations.

This position is responsible for the overall performance of the service department, including customer experience, scheduling and capacity, technician leadership, estimating and pricing support, financial performance, and developing long-term customer relationships.

We're looking for someone who can balance the needs of our customers with the needs of our team-keeping work moving efficiently today while building a stronger service operation for the future.

What We're Looking For

Strong commercial electrical service and/or electrical construction experience.

Previous experience leading electricians, technicians, or a service operation.

Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, and small-project execution.

Ability to manage multiple customers, technicians, schedules, and priorities at the same time.

Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.

Understanding of estimating, labor productivity, job costing, and gross margin.

Ability to coach people and hold team members accountable.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable using technology to manage scheduling, work orders, job information, and department performance.

Journeyman License

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and hold accountable Service Electricians, Leads, and service support team members.

Oversee daily scheduling, dispatching, and prioritization of service calls and small projects.

Manage technician capacity and workload to maximize productive and billable hours.

Ensure customers receive timely communication, professional service, and appropriate follow-up.

Review incoming service requests and determine appropriate scope, technician assignment, and next steps.

Support estimating, pricing, and proposals for service work and small projects.

Monitor service department revenue, gross margin, labor performance, and overall profitability.

Ensure completed work is documented, priced, closed out, and ready for billing promptly.

Monitor open work orders, outstanding proposals, change work, and unbilled service work.

Identify opportunities for additional work and build long-term relationships with existing customers.

Develop technicians through coaching, training, performance feedback, and career development.

Establish and maintain consistent service processes, standards, and expectations.

Coordinate material, equipment, subcontractor, and other resources needed to complete service work efficiently.

Address customer concerns and resolve service issues quickly and professionally.

Work with Choice leadership to establish service department goals, capacity plans, and growth strategies.
