Job description

Panhandle Power Solutions (PPS) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the Company's financial organization and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance & Accounting will provide financial leadership supporting growth, operational excellence, and profitability across federal, commercial, and industrial construction markets. This executive oversees accounting, finance, treasury, FP&A, contracting, project financial management, tax compliance, risk management, and financial reporting while partnering closely with operations to maximize shareholder value. This position is based in Destin, Florida.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as PPS’ senior financial executive and trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial reporting.
  • Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and financial analyses to support decision-making.
  • Oversee all accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Job Cost Accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate GAAP financial statements and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Manage construction project financial performance, cash flow, backlog, and profitability.
  • Lead treasury management, banking relationships, working capital optimization, and cash forecasting.
  • Oversee tax compliance, bonding capacity, insurance reporting, and financial risk management.
  • Lead and develop the Finance and Accounting organization.
  • Drive ERP optimization, process improvements, automation, and financial systems enhancements.
  • Manage and provide hands‑on oversight to the Contracting department.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
  • Construction industry experience required.
  • Experience with organizations exceeding $100 million in annual revenue.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Construction accounting, GAAP, project cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience with government contracting and FAR cost principles preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Procore, Microsoft Office 365 (required), Power BI (preferred).
