How you'll contribute 

A Director of Clinical Risk Management who excels in this role:

  • Provides strategic leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate clinical and organizational risks, driving initiatives that improve patient safety and protect the organization.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for hospital leadership, practice managers, Health Support Center (HSC) representatives, insurers, attorneys, and other stakeholders on all aspects of clinical risk management.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors risk management goals, policies, and procedures, providing guidance to reduce risk and prevent patient harm.
  • Educates leaders and stakeholders on risk management essentials, emerging trends, and proactive strategies to mitigate loss.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Health (DOH), and CMS requirements.
  • Participates in HSC committees, workgroups, and councils to create resources and tools that support risk management across LifePoint affiliates.
  • Analyzes incidents, trends, and risk data to inform leadership decisions, recommend preventive actions, and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in Quality or Risk Management within a healthcare setting..

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; relevant advanced degrees a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Management or Quality in an acute care setting preferred.

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards, including TJC, CMS, and Department of Health requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies to mitigate clinical and organizational risks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels across hospital and corporate settings.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing risk management policies, programs, and initiatives that improve patient safety and organizational outcomes.
