Job description

Director, Risk Management- International Markets

As a Director of Risk Management at Capital One you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to our highest profile Risk Management projects. You will lead a team of Risk Specialists and act as a thought leader working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge Risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Directors in Capital One's Risk Management organization partner with Executives and lines of business to drive organizational change in order to better manage the Company's Risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.


Directors in Risk Management at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish & lead international risk programs office to enable acceptance strategies

  • Lead risk activities for country risk assessments, exits, and new market entry

  • Triage legal and compliance engagement on BAU market activity

  • Support international integration commitments

  • Engage in international risk forums and analysis on strategic initiatives


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management

  • At least 2 years experience in Operations Management

  • At least 2 years experience in Project Management

  • At least 2 years experience in People Management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Project Management

  • At least 7 years of experience in Risk Management or Governance

  • Business Process Management certification (internal Capital One certification) Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Agile Coach certification, Compliance Certification (CRCM)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk Management


McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Risk Management


New York, NY: $224,800 - $256,500 for Director, Risk Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
