Location: FinDev Canada headquarters is in downtown Montreal. For the right candidate, Ottawa or Toronto will be considered, with the flexibility to work under a hybrid model, with a current requirement of three in-office days per week (subject to change). 

Compensation Details:

  • Enterprise Risk Management 18: Salaries typically range from $96,557 - $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.

Position & Team Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Enterprise Risk Management to help shape and elevate our risk management strategy. This is a unique opportunity to build upon and design a resilient, forward-thinking risk management infrastructure that supports agility and sound risk management practices in a fast-paced, impact-driven organization.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make an impact on the organization's long-term success, deliver on specific risk management initiatives, enhance our risk frameworks and policy instruments, and support the design and integration of clear risk processes and controls. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Enterprise Risk Oversight: Support the oversight and mature the enterprise risk management function across all pillars of risks, including strategic, financial, and operational.
  • Frameworks & Policies: Help develop, draft, and monitor enterprise risk frameworks, policies, reports, and KRIs.
  • Risk Appetite Management:  Help oversee the Risk Appetite Framework, including metrics definition, measurement, monitoring and reporting on current and emerging risks.
  • Controls & Testing:  Develop and oversee risk processes, controls, and testing to ensure effective monitoring, management, and responses to current and emerging enterprise risks.
  • Governance: Support adherence to sound risk governance under the 3LD model, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Advisory & Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to deliver risk-based solutions and provide specialized advice to Risk Owners and all staff.
  • Reporting:  Support the creation and presentation of enterprise risk reporting to the Executive Risk Management Committee and to the Board of Directors.
  • Support: Support leaders and committee members to manage timelines, meetings, and status updates on risk topics, deliverables, and initiatives.
  • Initiative Leadership: Lead key risk initiatives, projects, and continuous improvements.
  • Data Governance:  Lead data governance practices by defining data management standards, ownership, quality controls, and stewardship processes, ensuring quality data that is compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Culture: Help champion a strong risk culture across the organization.

What We Are Looking For:

Must-haves

  • Educational Background:  University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5-8 years experience in a combination of financial institution and enterprise risk management roles
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Educational Background: Completed Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience: Experience working with other Crown Corporations, Development Finance Institutions (DFI), or Multilateral Development Banks (MDB)
