JOB SUMMARY: (2-3 sentences describing purpose of job - begin with level of supervision provided to the Incumbent) Under limited supervision: Oversees the Risk and Underwriting staff to ensure the delivery of superb service and maximize Agent and ISO retention. Personally handles more complex service situations. Hires, trains, guides, and monitors staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Fundamental Duties

1. Oversees the Risk and Underwriting staff to ensure that they provide effective and proactive merchant daily due diligence. With particular attention to:

A. Risk and Underwriting adherence to policy and procedure, card brand guidelines and standard operating procedures.

B. Works to prevent losses.

C. Risk and Underwriting matters are promptly addressed, owned, and resolved by the team member in either group.

D. Ensure that all matters are escalated where necessary.

E. Solves daily production problems (shadow, ADP, FDR, Tsys ) when necessary

2. Personally handles staff escalated or more complex merchant, ISO or Agent calls.

3. Hires, trains, and monitors respective team representatives; assesses their performance; and addresses performance shortcomings.

4. Maintains each departments programs and processes to minimize losses to the department for Risk, Underwriting and dispute resolution

5. Works in conjunction with the sales and operations groups to work with ISOs and Agents for accounting needs (funds transfer approvals), e.g. high transaction approval, high authorization approvals.

6. Oversees and executes management directives for changes or trending risk/underwriting situations.

Marginal Functions: (Additional duties which could be performed by others)

7. Ads as backup risk/underwriter to cover short-staffing situations.

8. Participates in other special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
