We are looking for a full-time Finance and Risk Manager to join Summit State Bank team at our main administrative office. This in-office position is responsible for managing key day-to-day finance and financial risk activities of the Bank under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. The position oversees assigned finance functions; provides financial analysis and recommendations to management; supports budgeting, strategic planning, treasury and asset/liability management; and contributes to the Bank's financial stability and growth. The Finance and Risk Manager prepares information used in communications with executive management, Board committees, investors, auditors and examiners, as applicable. This position must collaborate effectively across the Bank while producing timely and accurate reports and is also responsible for other ongoing projects and tasks, as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Master's Degree, MBA or other relevant advanced education preferred.
  • Technical and analytical expertise to support financial reporting, modeling and analysis; advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Internal customer service oriented.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, financial analysis, treasury or financial management, including at least 3 years of experience in banking or another regulated financial institution. Experience with bank financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, asset/liability management, liquidity and capital analysis is strongly preferred.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees, management, auditors, examiners and committee participants, including in presentations and meetings.
  • Must be able to interpret complex financial information, develop and present meaningful financial analysis, and translate data into clear recommendations for management.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently.
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback.
  • Prior people-management experience required; demonstrated ability to coach, develop and hold staff accountable.

Pay Range: $140,000 - $170,000/annually
