Position Description
Stewart Perry intern program participants are expected to work a normal 40-hour week. Most of the time will be spent in the office at our corporate campus. There will be an opportunity to travel to job sites as well.
Students who intern with Stewart Perry will be presented with increasingly diverse responsibilities and opportunities to gain relevant experience as they progress through the program. Students will be involved in project management, estimating, marketing, and accounting in various ways. The responsibilities of an PM intern include, but are not limited to:
  1. Working with Estimators to generate bid lists, soliciting subcontractor involvement on pricing, and compiling bids on bid day, in addition to doing takeoffs using takeoff software.
  2. Working with Project Managers to assemble project directories, submittal review and processing, as well as closeout procedures.
  3. Working with our PMs and field superintendents, gaining onsite management and meeting experience in Owner/Architect/Contractor Meetings and Subcontractor Meetings, visiting current jobsites to learn about building systems.
  4. Work with the Office/Accounting staff to handle document control, following up with subs/vendors, etc.

Stewart/Perry is a construction company offering general contracting and construction management services, building mostly in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. In 1984, Stewart/Perry began operations primarily focused on retail construction services. Today, the company provides services within several other sectors as well. Our management team consists of building and financial professionals, operating from a LEED certified headquarters situated on a 16-acre campus. We have provided building services in 23 states, and we are registered or hold a license in 29 states. Single project customers are as important to the company as those with multiple project requirements in different geographic areas. Depending on the needs of the client, our services include Preconstruction Services, General Contracting, Design-Build, Construction Management (CM) and Civil Management.
Position Requirements
Open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a construction management, building science, or civil engineering program.
